Suit Up, Show Off, Geek Out
If you stroll through downtown Tampa and spot Spider-Man grabbing a coffee or a Pokémon trainer waiting for the streetcar, don’t panic—you’re not dreaming. It just means Tampa Bay Comic Con is in full swing!
From August 1-3, the Tampa Convention Center is transforming into a colorful, cosplay-packed universe where fantasy meets reality. It’s part mega fan celebration, part costume party, and part pop culture playground, all rolled into one jam-packed weekend. Whether you're into comics, anime, TV throwbacks, video games, or just here for the people-watching, this is the ultimate place to geek out and have a blast doing it.
One of the biggest draws this year? Celebrity Row. Stars like Zachary Levi (Shazam!), Shameik Moore (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), and Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride) will be signing autographs, taking photos, and sharing behind-the-scenes stories during panel talks. And yes, Steve from Blue’s Clues will be there—cue the nostalgic happy tears.
Cosplay meetups also happen all weekend, so if you’ve been perfecting that Sailor Moon or Harley Quinn look, now’s your moment. And if your sewing skills aren’t quite there, no worries—just showing up in your favorite fandom tee or a clever accessory still makes you part of the scene.
Beyond the costumes, the vendor floor is a full-on treasure hunt. Rows of booths offer everything from rare comic books and collectible figures to retro video games, enamel pins, and original art. Artist Alley is where the magic really happens, giving you a chance to meet the creatives behind the stories and characters you love, and maybe even commission a piece of fan art to take home.
Panels are happening all weekend, featuring everything from fan Q&As and voice actor spotlights to writing workshops and themed trivia. Kids can get in on the fun too, with a family-friendly cosplay contest and plenty of PG programming. Plus, with the convention center right by the water, you can step outside for breezy bay views or recharge with a bite at one of the nearby Riverwalk spots
