Striking the Right Chord: Universal Rock School's Melodic Journey to Recognition

URS offers a wide range of musical lessons, catering to individuals aged 5 and above, irrespective of their skill levels. Steve, the owner of URS, threw everything into the business and single-handedly ran it himself from 2010 to 2018. Current URS manager, Toni, took the reins back in 2018 and hasn’t looked back. Toni’s own musical talents were instrumental as she was personally able to begin offering cello and double bass lessons, additionally, the classical side of URS has been growing more and more with Toni at the helm.
Toni articulates their vision, stating, "Our mission was never just to teach; it was to inspire, to connect, and to cultivate an environment where every note carries a unique story." These stories are as diverse as their students, ranging from kindergarteners taking their first tentative steps on a piano to teenagers discovering their voices and adults rekindling long-forgotten passions for instruments like the violin.
The Elite Rock Band Program, offered at URS, has also been receiving their own accolades. The recent growth of the program and success they've had in the community has been an amazing collaboration. They’ve won the local Battle of the Bands competition for the past two years in a row! There are so many unique skills students learn by playing in a band with others. They become more confident and improve communication skills. They focus on teamwork and create lasting memories and lifelong friendships. Live music can help young students reach their full artistic potential and URS is proud to offer this experience.
The challenges posed by the recent pandemic could have been a pause in their musical journey, but URS chose innovation over stagnation. The teachers incorporated engaging music apps and digital resources to keep practice fun and rewarding. Their swift transition to virtual lessons ensured that the rhythm of learning remained uninterrupted. While the world grappled with uncertainty, URS provided its students with solace through the comforting embrace of music.
