Seas the Opportunity!
Miami-based Royal Caribbean is looking well beyond Florida for its next big expansion, adding more Asia-Pacific sailings for 2027 and 2028 from Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
The newly expanded 2027-28 Asia-Pacific lineup spreads three ships across a notably broad stretch of the region, giving travelers more ways to pair a cruise vacation with destinations that require considerably more passport mileage than a quick Caribbean hop.
For Florida, where Royal Caribbean has deep roots and Miami serves as the company’s home base, the expansion is another reminder that the cruise business headquartered here is increasingly global.
Three Ships, Plenty of Geography
Ovation of the Seas will add new three- to eight-night sailings from Brisbane, Australia. The itineraries put the South Pacific within easier reach while adding another departure point to Royal Caribbean’s regional mix.
Voyager of the Seas takes the longer view. Its Australia-based itineraries stretch toward New Zealand and the South Pacific before the ship shifts north in early 2028. From there, Voyager will sail from Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo to destinations including Okinawa, Taipei, Vietnam, Osaka, Nagasaki, Kobe and the Mt. Fuji region.
Some Tokyo departures are timed around Japan’s cherry blossom season, which makes advance planning especially relevant for travelers hoping to build a trip around one of the country’s most anticipated times of year.
Singapore Stays Busy
Royal Caribbean is also extending the inaugural Singapore season for Navigator of the Seas through October 2027. The additional schedule brings year-round two- to five-night getaways from Singapore, with stops in Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand.
Bookings for Navigator and Ovation open August 18, while Voyager bookings follow August 25. Royal Caribbean’s broader Asia cruise offerings show just how much territory the company is now stitching together across the region.
For Florida travelers, the practical takeaway is simple: the hometown cruise giant is making an Asia-Pacific trip easier to build around a familiar ship and cruise format, even when the departure port is half a world away. The hard part may be choosing between cherry blossoms, New Zealand scenery and a few extra days in Singapore.
