Red, White, & Ready to Roar!

Red, White, & Ready to Roar!

Florida has never been shy about the Fourth of July. Give us a flag, a food truck, a waterfront, and permission to make noise after dark, and suddenly half the map is planning a grand finale. And this year, America’s 250th birthday gives the holiday a little extra spark!

From coast to coast, communities across the state are turning Independence Day into something bigger than a quick lawn-chair-and-sparklers situation.

Waterfronts, Waterslides, and Big Florida Energy

Sebring gets a head start on July 3 with its Salute to America 250 celebration, including a parade that welcomes golf carts, motorcycles, cars, and local groups ready to show off their patriotic flair. That detail alone feels wonderfully Florida, where civic pride can absolutely come with chrome, decals, and a decorated golf cart.

In Apopka, the city’s free July Fourth Celebration brings the party to the Apopka Amphitheater from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. Families can expect food, kids’ activities, live music from Private Stock Band, and a fireworks show at 9 p.m. It’s the kind of event that makes good use of a summer evening: easy to understand, easy to attend, and built for everyone from toddlers with glow sticks to grandparents who know exactly where to park.

Punta Gorda is going for full festival mode with Fourth Fest 2026 at Laishley Park. The event brings live music, food trucks, a kids’ fun zone, and Water-Mania: a lineup of 12 giant waterslides that sounds like a child’s dream and a parent’s cardio workout. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m., lighting up the Peace River and giving Charlotte County a holiday finish with serious waterfront credentials.

Over in Gulfport, the day starts with a nod to history before moving into the kind of community celebration the city does so well. The Independence Day Celebration includes the opening of “The Spirit of ’76 Half Century Time Capsule,” followed by a Family Fun Day at Tomlinson Park, a community parade, and fireworks launched from Williams Pier at 9 p.m.

A Statewide Birthday Bash

Together, these celebrations show why Florida’s Fourth still matters beyond the fireworks. They give neighbors a reason to gather, local performers a stage, small vendors a crowd, and families a memory that doesn’t require a theme park ticket. For America’s 250th, Florida is bringing the cookout energy, the parade route charm, and enough sky sparkle to make the mosquitoes pause out of respect.
