Keeping the Gulf Humming
Sunrise on the Gulf has its own soundtrack. Gulls call overhead while a thermos of coffee gets passed around the boat. Underneath it all, a well-tuned outboard hums its way toward the fishing grounds. In Carrabelle, Anglers Edge Marine has been keeping that hum steady since 2004, and the family-owned shop treats every engine like it's headed out at dawn.
Mercury engines are the specialty here. As an authorized Mercury Marine Platinum Dealer and repower center, the team can swap in motors up to 600 horsepower, including quad setups for serious offshore rigs. The technicians also know their way around Yamaha outboards, and Anglers Edge Marine is an Authorized Yamaha Service Center. The latest computer diagnostics help them pinpoint issues before they turn into a long day at the dock. Routine oil changes and tune-ups keep boats ready for the weekend. For bigger jobs, the crew tackles fiberglass and gelcoat repairs with a careful hand. The shop is also an authorized Everglades Boats warranty and refit center. Boaters who want easier docking can get an Optimus 360 joystick system installed. The store stocks Simrad electronics and JL Audio, along with Powerpole anchors and Seakeeper Ride. Anglers can grab tackle and frozen bait on the way out. Boats for sale round out the lineup.
Behind the counter are founders Troy and Michelle. Troy grew up working in his father's boat shop in Atlantic Beach, so marine mechanics came naturally. After raising their two daughters in Madison, the couple moved back to the coast to open their Carrabelle location. Today, boaters travel from far and wide for Troy's expertise. That hard-earned trust helped earn Anglers Edge Marine their 2026 Best of Florida Regional Award. Somewhere off the Forgotten Coast tomorrow morning, a freshly serviced outboard will be humming right on cue.
