Owners Clayton and Teri Wilber started FFS with a simple vision: to elevate the role of the farrier in the broader equestrian community. “We look to reshape the way farriers interact with clients,” says Clayton. “Our clients have come to realize that being a part of the FFS family not only provides them with world-class equine service, but it also gives them access to a fast-growing community of like-minded, goal-oriented competitors and equine professionals who constantly push one another.”
Clayton, who grew up around horses and competed in rodeos, knows firsthand the importance of maintaining a sound horse. What began as a necessity to shoe his own horses evolved into a lifelong passion for keeping equine athletes performing at their peak. His journey, filled with years of hard work, has positioned FFS at the forefront of equine care. He’s shared his knowledge across the equine world, traveling internationally to speak and educate other horse owners and enthusiasts.
Today, their multi-farrier operation located in Oxford, just south of Ocala, allows them to serve clients effectively through their convenient location and unparalleled level of care through their partnerships with veterinarians and industry experts. FFS has clients who ship their horses from across the U.S. Recently, they started an Equine Education Facility in hopes of educating horse owners as well as farriers. The importance of listening to and looking at the whole horse is a key factor in FFS’ care.

Clayton emphasizes that it’s not just the farrier’s job to keep a horse sound—it’s a team effort involving the owner and other professionals. Teri, the backbone of the administrative side, juggled part-time scheduling with her full-time teaching job in the early days of the business. As FFS grew, she transitioned into a full-time role, where she continues to be the voice behind emails and phone calls. Her commitment to the company’s success reflects the core values that FFS holds dear: family and care.
As FFS looks toward the future, they are gearing up to include some other exciting features aimed to educate their clients about equine care, drawing on their rich network of veterinarians and experts. It’s just another way they aim to better serve their community, reinforcing their belief that happy, healthy horses start from the hoof up.
