FedEx Freight is Riding Shotgun!

FedEx Freight is Riding Shotgun!

NASCAR’s trucks are getting a new name in 2027, and the pairing could hardly be more on the nose. FedEx Freight is taking the wheel as title sponsor of the series.

A New Name for the Truck Series

Beginning in 2027, the series will officially become the NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Series under a new long-term agreement between NASCAR and FedEx Freight.

The deal goes well beyond putting a corporate name on race weekends. Starting January 1, FedEx Freight will also become an Official Partner of NASCAR and its exclusive freight shipping partner in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

For FedEx Freight, the timing is especially notable. The company is establishing itself as an independent, publicly traded business, and the NASCAR agreement marks its first sponsorship platform of this scale. That gives the freight carrier a national stage for building its standalone identity while connecting with customers, employees and business leaders.

The pairing also has a certain built-in logic. One business moves freight by truck. The other has built an entire racing series around trucks. Marketing departments dream of setups requiring this little explanation.

Florida Has a Front-Row Seat

The partnership has an obvious Florida connection through Daytona Beach-based NASCAR, but the state will get another close-up look in 2027.

The Truck Series is scheduled to return to the St. Petersburg street circuit, putting the newly renamed series back on Florida pavement beyond its traditional presence at Daytona International Speedway.

For businesses watching the deal, the interesting part happens away from the checkered flag. NASCAR and FedEx Freight are positioning the partnership as a platform for customer relationships, employee recognition, business development and long-term brand growth. In other words, the trucks circling the track are only one piece of the business being done around them.

That makes the agreement a useful example of how modern sports sponsorships have evolved. A major racing partnership can provide advertising, certainly, but it can also create B2B connections, workforce engagement and opportunities to put executives, employees and customers in the same orbit.
