Next door, Scallop Cove Bait & Tackle has rods and reels, tackle, frozen and live bait, fishing licenses and other essentials for fishing St. Joseph Bay, the Gulf and surrounding waters.
Farther down the Cape, Scallop Cove Too inside St. Joseph Peninsula State Park offers pontoon boats, golf carts, kayaks and more for rent, along with souvenirs, bait and tackle, cold drinks and snacks.
Claire and Tyler Matney took over Scallop Cove in 2017, preserving the Cape San Blas landmark while expanding what it offers visitors and locals alike. Today, the Scallop Cove family of businesses covers everything from groceries and dinner to fishing supplies and a pontoon for a day on the bay.
That combination of selection, convenience and service helped earn Scallop Cove General Store the 2026 Best of Florida Award for Grocery Stores.
