Disney's Merry Makeover for the Holidays
The Mouse spends no time waiting! The Halloween decorations are going down and the Christmas trees are going up. Holiday lights are strung across fixtures, sparkling ornaments don awnings and the Very Merry Christmas Holiday Party will be occurring nights from November 8 to December 31. At Disney, Thanksgiving doesn’t stand a chance.
Disney World details some of the park decorations on their site, including snow on Main Street, U.S.A., bows and wreaths throughout the parks, and cookies and cocoa at some spots for free out of yuletide cheer!
Disney World and Walt Disney is a main economic contributor to the Central Florida area. There’s a reason why Orlando is the “Theme Park Capital of the World”. Disney reports that Disney World had a revenue of $4.3 billion for their third quarter fiscal year, and it’s estimated that about $17 billion is brought in each year.
Some of the Disney holiday special attractions include “Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration”, “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks” and “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade”. Several rides will be getting a bit of a makeover in order to amp up the merry theme, such as the Jingle Cruise (Jungle Cruise). Disney will also be bringing back the Festival of the Holidays, featuring food tours in Epcot with a holiday spin. The food in other parks is a jolly deal too! Last year, the park featured creations such as the Christmas Cookie Sundae, Gingerbread Almond Cake Pop, Ginger Apple Funnel Cake, Merry Merry Melon and more to give you a taste.
