Three Weekends of Plundering, Parades, and Pirate Fun

The Gasparilla extravaganza kicks off January 18 with the Ashley Children’s Gasparilla, presented by Chick-fil-A Tampa Bay. It’s a family-friendly day packed with pint-sized pirate fun—think preschooler strolls, the nation’s largest children’s parade, and a grand finale of fireworks and daredevil sky shows over the docked Jose Gasparilla II. It’s perfect for budding buccaneers (and parents looking for wholesome vibes).

Then, the big guns come out on January 25 with the Seminole Hard Rock Gasparilla Pirate Fest. This is the real-deal “invasion,” where Ye Mystic Krewe storms Tampa aboard the Jose Gasparilla II. Bayshore Boulevard transforms into a pirate party, with a dazzling parade, live music, and more beads than your couch can handle.

And don’t miss the heartwarming close to the season on March 1, when the rigged pirate ship, the Jose Gasparilla II, takes pediatric cancer survivors on a special voyage. It’s a reminder that pirates do have hearts—buried treasure not required.
