About
Painters, photographers, and sculptors, Studio 1608, is home to a collection of working artist studios from a variety of disciplines. An exciting space filled with history and architectural details, Studii 1608 is an unexpected treasure in today's commercial cookie cutter buildings.
Conveniently located between the Norton Museum and Antique Row, Studio 1608 is a New York loft style building with over 7500 square feet of sudio space and has been at the epicenter of the West Palm Beach Art scene for over 30 years. Built in 1937 as a car dealership, our space on the second floor has preserved its character by restoring original hardwood floors and leaving exposed beams for 13-foot ceilings. With 7 working artist studios and a common gallery space, the real charm of Studio 1608 is the community of artists that have flowed through its doors, similar to the LA Ruche artist colony in Paris. Celebrating contemporary and emerging artists for 30 years, the space is imbued with creativity and warmth, generating a haven for artists of all kinds to discuss, collaborate, create, and share their work in the heart of the West Palm Beach's Art District.
Every year, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Studio 1608 starts the South Florida Season with our annual November Show. Themes and artists ever-changing, it is a beautiful place to see fresh, local art, and the perfect excuse to start holiday shopping. Throughout the season during curated shows, patrons can meet Studio Artists while exploring the exhibition space, creating a sense of place into this already enriched space. Visit our site for more information about our space and current artists.
