About

The Ximenez-Fatio House Museum is one of the best-preserved and most authentic Second Spanish Period residential buildings in St. Augustine, Florida. In 1973, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places, and it was designated a Florida Heritage Landmark in 2012.

Our museum is consistently voted one of the top attractions in St. Augustine, a testament to its historical significance and the enriching experiences it offers to visitors. The house dates back to 1798, when it was built by Andres Ximenez, a Spanish merchant. It later became a boarding house in the early 19th century, managed by women, and played a significant role in the social and cultural life of the area.

Today, the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum provides an immersive experience, showcasing the life of the early residents and visitors through meticulously preserved rooms and authentic artifacts. Guests can explore the history of the house and its inhabitants, engage in educational activities, and enjoy various events and programs that highlight the rich heritage of St. Augustine.
