Southeast Florida

It’s the bold colors and shapes of the Art Deco buildings, the kick of caffeine from Cuban coffee and the dazzling nightlife in the city. It’s the rich culture of Southeast Florida.

Maybe you’ve passed through when boarding a cruise or spent a few unforgettable nights soaking up the social scene at South beach, but you’ve probably heard of Miami, Florida’s “magic” city. Miami is a popular destination for celebrities, has the largest cruise ship port in the world, shows off more art deco architecture than anywhere else in the country and has strong ties to Latin American culture. The cultural influence plays a large role in the Miami-Dade area leading the market for Latin media and telecommunications.

The large Miami-Dade cargo ports give the county the title “Cargo Gateway to the Americas,” and the metropolitan area also claims the highest concentration of International banks in the U.S., contributing greatly to its successful banking and finance industry.

Venture from Miami to Palm Beach to shop the luxurious Worth Avenue and partake in world-famous fine-dining experiences. With a large focus on the agricultural industry, it’s no wonder the food is so good. Major crops include sugar and sweet corn, but lettuce, radish, celery and more add to the area's agricultural output.

Ride by Gondola through the canals of Las Olas Isles in Ft. Lauderdale, the “Venice of America.” While the unique canals contribute to the area’s tourism, professional and business services support the economy as well.

Don’t forget about the Florida Keys! With standout pastel paint-jobs, water sports, bar-hopping experiences and endless entertainment, the Keys are a favorite tourist destination.

All that and education. Some of the schools in the Southeast Florida region are University of Miami, Miami Dade College, Florida International University, Florida Atlantic University, Palm Beach State College and Palm Beach Atlantic University. Talk about a land of opportunity.
