Central Florida

What makes Central Florida the most visited place in the United States? If you pictured a famous mouse and thought about Walt Disney World, you’d be correct. The Disney and Universal theme parks in Orlando draw in crowds both nationally and internationally to create the hottest tourist spot in the nation.

Likewise, the parks have made the surrounding Orlando area the perfect place to find talent in the digital media industry. Interactive theme park rides, film and television all utilize digital media, but the modeling, simulation & training business do too. You guessed it, Orlando has the largest cluster of those specialties in the country.

There’s something else Florida is famous for. Oranges! Central Florida lays claim to two of Florida’s largest citrus-producing counties. Companies like JBT FoodTech, the world’s leader in citrus processing solutions, help take oranges and citrus varieties from field to breakfast OJ. The food-tech giant isn’t the only food product company in town.

Publix was founded in the region’s city of Winter Haven, and the grocery chain is one of the largest employers in the area. With all these big names already giving Central Florida bragging rights, you wouldn't think it could get much better.

Except, the region is also the “Horse Capital of The World.” Not only are there more horses and ponies in the region’s Marion County than anywhere else in the United States, but 39 Florida National Champions were bred here. There’s plenty of opportunity to visit horse farms in the area, but if horses aren’t your thing, SeaWorld gives you a look at the wondrous ocean creatures surrounding the Florida Peninsula.

Tech-savvy individuals might take interest in the NeoCity development in Kissimmee. Designed to be a smart city that creates future high-tech jobs, the project is already sparking market interest and looking at long-term plans with its NeoCity Academy for STEM studies.

Past the innovative high school academy, Florida Southern College, Seminole State College and Valencia College provide ample opportunities for further education.

From cattle and horses to roller coaster rides, Central Florida is impossible to forget.
