We are honored to introduce the heart and soul behind DNA Floribbean Flavors, Chef Harry Banatte.

Harry’s journey is a masterclass in resilience. Born in Haiti and reunited with his family in the U.S. at age six, he spent his early years learning the value of "humble beginnings." He still remembers hearing “Happy Birthday” for the first time in America, celebrated with a simple bowl of Ramen noodles—a meal he still eats every Thursday as a reminder of where he started.

Turning Doubt into Fuel

After being told he wouldn’t graduate high school, Harry didn't just finish—he excelled. He earned his degree from the Florida Culinary Institute and spent the next 20 years mastering everything from high-end plating to the discipline of a fast-paced pizzeria.

Building a Legacy

In 2020, Harry and his wife, Tamyia, launched DNA Floribbean Flavors. Their path wasn't easy; while building the business, their family navigated 2½ years of homelessness, living in hotels while raising three young men and paying off their food trailer. That season didn't break them—it solidified their commitment to faith, family, and community impact.

Today, Harry is more than a chef; he is a mentor. Through his nonprofit, Daddy’s N Action, he helps the next generation of young men develop the confidence and vision that guided him.
