What is FilmGate Festival?
FilmGate Miami Festival is Florida’s longest-running monthly short film series, created to celebrate the richness of local storytelling, culture, and artistic innovation. Every month, we spotlight a fresh, themed selection of short films that reflect the creative heartbeat of Miami and the broader Florida region. Our mission is to provide a vibrant, evolving platform where emerging and established filmmakers can connect, share, and grow.

Who Are We?
We are FilmGate—a film organization deeply rooted in the heart of Miami, built by a team that reflects the cultural mosaic of our city. Diversity and inclusivity aren’t buzzwords for us—they are the foundation of who we are. Our team, led by Executive Director Diliana Alexander and a dedicated board, brings together unique voices and perspectives that make today’s film world so dynamic. We are proud to champion a safe, supportive, and equitable space for creatives from all walks of life.

Every last Wednesday of the month, join us at the beautiful Silverspot Cinema in Downtown Miami for a themed evening of film screenings, creator Q&As, and community connection—all centered around Florida filmmakers and stories.
