About

The Key West Garden at Fort West Martello is a lush, seaside botanical paradise housed in the historic West Martello Tower, an 1863 Civil War-era fort. Maintained by member-volunteers, this non-profit National Historic Site offers free daily admission, allowing visitors to explore tropical garden rooms: a butterfly garden, prehistoric garden, perfume garden, orchid areas, native plant area, cactus garden, and a seaside garden overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with a labyrinth, peace bell and various arbors and gazebos. Its beautiful tropical plants and flowers set in an historic fort ruin makes it a very unique venue space for weddings and other events, and is well-regarded.
