About

The Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association is a North Florida youth sports association founded by three area coaches in 1989 for the purpose of promoting the sport of volleyball for school-age students in the city and surrounding areas. These coaches were Mary Andrew (Former Head Coach, FSCJ), Elise Bush (Head Coach, The Bolles School), and Brandy King (Former Head Coach, Mayport Middle School).

In the past 30 years, this association has grown from 3 teams, 30 players, and 3 coaches, to 74 teams, over 500 players, and 70+ coaches.

Our mission is to promote the sport of volleyball, as well as health and fitness throughout Northeast Florida by providing educational training and competitive playing opportunities to players of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.

Sports Edge opened in 2016 in the heart of Northeast Florida to create an indoor sports facility like none other in Jacksonville.   As the largest and most innovative indoor sports complex in the area, Sports Edge has become a destination for families, athletes, businesses, and guests alike.

We host over 50 sporting & special interest events annually comprising of over 30,000 athletes, coaches, officials, & spectators in attendance. Sports Edge hosts all tournaments and events under one roof at its 75,000-square-foot training center right here in Jacksonville, Florida.

Simply put, our mission is to Be the Best.

Whether that means to be the best facility, have the best coaches, develop the best athletes and students, or simply reach our individual bests. The Sports Edge mission is to exemplify the best in everything we do. We set the bar high and strive to exceed our fans, athletes, and teammates expectations. At the end of the day, our goal is to bring families together through athletics.
