Mere Benefits is a Jacksonville-based health insurance agency focused on simplifying Medicare, Marketplace health insurance, group benefits, and coverage options for individuals, families, self-employed professionals, and small businesses.

Founded in 2018 by Kate Spilsbury, a licensed insurance agent and broker who has been licensed since 2007, Mere was built with one goal in mind: helping people feel educated, supported, and confident when making important insurance decisions.

Kate, a 4th-generation Floridian, is a Certified Medicare Insurance Planner® (CMIP®) and Registered Social Security Analyst® (RSSA®) who has helped thousands of beneficiaries navigate Medicare, Social Security, health insurance, and supplemental coverage options. Mere Benefits is known for taking a personalized and educational approach — helping clients understand not just what they have, but why it matters.

Unlike many agencies that only focus on enrollment, Mere Benefits provides ongoing support before and after enrollment through the MereCare team. From reviewing provider networks and prescription coverage to helping clients understand billing issues and life changes, the team believes support should continue long after enrollment is complete.

Mere proudly serves clients throughout Florida, while also providing in-person support in Jacksonville and surrounding areas including Duval, St. Johns, Clay, and Nassau counties. The agency also assists clients in multiple states. Services include:
