David Vargas is the owner and agent of David Vargas Agency Inc., proudly serving Gulfport, St. Petersburg, Tampa Bay, and communities throughout the State of Florida.

David began his career with State Farm more than 18 years ago in Chicago, Illinois, before relocating to South Florida in 2008. He quickly established himself as a top performer, helping his agency qualify for both Level 2 and Exotic Ambassador Club recognition. Known for his expertise in agency operations and business development, David became a sought-after resource for agents, assisting them in accelerating contract cycles and significantly increasing their books of business in a short period of time.

His success led him to Pinellas County, where he joined State Farm’s corporate team as an Agency Field Specialist. In this role, David coached and mentored agents, helping them grow their agencies, develop talent, and achieve business goals while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

In 2018, David fulfilled his dream of agency ownership by opening his own State Farm agency in St. Petersburg, Florida. Within just five months, he qualified for both Ambassador Travel and Legion of Honor recognition. Since then, he has consistently earned Ambassador Travel honors each year, achieving Level 3 Ambassador Travel, along with recognition through Bronze Honor Club and Chairman’s Circle.

In January 2025, David’s office experienced a devastating fire that required an immediate temporary relocation. While challenging, the experience created an opportunity for growth and reinvention. The agency ultimately found a new permanent home in the City of Gulfport, where it continues to thrive and serve customers throughout Tampa Bay and across Florida. Today, David Vargas Agency Inc. is recognized as a trusted insurance and financial services resource for individuals, families, and businesses seeking personalized protection and guidance.

David’s passion for helping people, combined with his ability to understand each customer’s unique needs, has been the foundation of his success. Whether coaching team members, mentoring future agents, or helping policyholders protect what matters most, he is committed to delivering exceptional service and building lasting relationships.

Beyond the insurance industry, David is deeply committed to giving back to the community. His agency has donated office space to Creative Clay, a local nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities through arts education and vocational opportunities. He is an active supporter of The Compassion Health Foundation, helping improve the health and well-being of individuals facing mental and behavioral health challenges. His agency also partners with and volunteers for Friends of Strays Animal Shelter, supporting the care and adoption of homeless pets throughout the Tampa Bay area.

David earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from Florida Atlantic University. He resides in St. Petersburg, Florida, with his beloved French Bulldogs, Francois and Jacques.
