The Family Pit

It's a Family opertated southern style BBQ and Homemade Amish Ice Cream food truck. A small business aimed for a family environment and friendly atmosphere. 

It includes our specials of old fashion, simple dishes, made to taste good and look good. We created everything to be as homemade and unique for many to try, down to our meat seasonings and BBQ sauce. Everything is made to be simple, yet good quality, as we make all our food fresh everyday. The Ice Cream comes from a company with there own creamery and dairy products that make real authentic, but delicious Amish Ice Cream, including the cheese to make our famous and very creamy smoked mac n cheese. Our BBQ sauce is made with fresh roma tomatoes that are turned into tomato sauce and ketchup to create our own Homemade BBQ sauce as Homemade and as fresh as possible with no preservatives or sugar, but instead honey, to sweeten it. We've mastered making brisket and pulled pork that is not injected with any sort of juice to created a very wet and tender piece of meat that melts and doesn't need BBQ sauce to taste good. Our St. Louis ribs fall off the bone, which doesnt even need a knife to cut when platting. The mild and spicy cheddar jalapeño sausages are smoked to have an amazing texture with a nice skin for a delicious taste. Our half chickens we provide are also incredible as they fall of the bone with a very juicy and tender taste for being smoked.

In addition, the sides we've created were created to be simple, but compliment our meat the way we like our BBQ. Our sides that include a representation of a taste of home potato salad, our savory creamy coleslaw, famous apple baked beans that are cooked with homemade apple pie filling with no brown sugar added, that creamy smoked mac n cheese that had been told to be one of the best some have tasted, and a family recipe from the Great Depession for a smoked corn pudding.
