Herd Foundation

Established in 2018 by co-founders Rhonda Fritzshall and Nongae Johnson, the HERD Foundation is dedicated to providing equine-assisted services for veterans and military families.

Our mission is to foster personal growth and healing through connected relationships between humans and horses.

HERD Foundation offers a range of programs designed to support the mental health and overall well-being of veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and related challenges. By decreasing isolation and promoting a sense of community and belonging, we provide veterans—and their spouses, children, and families—a safe and supportive space to confront life’s challenges with courage and compassion.

Our goal is to improve mental health outcomes and strengthen family relationships through meaningful, trauma-informed, equine-assisted experiences.
