I have been practicing law in South Florida for more than 40 years. I bring a unique background to my practice, specializing in Marital and Family Law. My early career as a criminal defense attorney allowed me to hone my skills as a seasoned litigator, an architect of conflict resolution and negotiator. I am regularly listed in Florida Trend Magazine's "Legal Elite", The Wall Street Journal's "Top Attorneys in Florida", U.S. News and World Report's "Best Lawyer" in marital and family litigation as well as marital and family mediation and a Florida "Super Lawyer" for marital and family law.

Before being recruited by SMGQ to create and lead their Family Law Practice Group in 2012, I was the managing partner for several successful boutique family law litigation firms. In mid 2016 I moved my Family Law Practice Group to create and lead Greenspoon Marder's Miami-Dade Family Law Practice Group, after being courted by that firm.

My decision to return to a boutique practice created Richard J. Preira & Associates with a culture of attentiveness, responsiveness and creative solutions typically found only in smaller entrepreneurial firms. My team and I continue to serve families and clients with unparalleled commitment and intuitive counsel.
